Test Drive Policy
We certainly understand that tutoring is an investment. We are happy to meet with a student for one
hour before you decide whether or not to work with us. If, for any reason whatsoever, you feel that
we are not the best match for you or your student, we’ll never charge you for that hour. If you do feel
like we are a good fit, you can pay double for the second hour, and then proceed normally from
there. So, while that first hour isn’t free if you choose to work with us, at least this way you get a risk-
free test drive.
Personal Master Tutoring Rates (with the owner, Alex Fay)
Hourly: $180 per hour for Zoom tutoring (recommended!), or $240 per hour in-person
Personal Expert Tutoring Rates:
Hourly: $150 per hour, pay-as-you-go
Personal Elite Tutoring Rates:
Hourly: $110 per hour, pay-as-you-go
Group* Master Tutoring Rates:
Two students: $150 per student per hour
Three students: $120 per student per hour
Four students: $100 per student per hour
Five students: $80 per student per hour
Group* Expert Tutoring Rates:
Two students: $100 per student per hour
Three students: $80 per student per hour
Four students: $70 per student per hour
Five students: $60 per student per hour
Group* Master Tutoring Rates:
Two students: $80 per student per hour
Three students: $70 per student per hour
Four students: $60 per student per hour
Five students: $50 per student per hour
*We do not offer group tutoring unless we are relatively confident that all students are of
approximately the same scoring level.
A note explaining the different rates:
Alex has more than twenty years of tutoring experience. Expert tutors have more than five. Elite
tutors have more than two. No one on our staff has less than two years of experience, and everyone
goes through extra training directly with Alex before they are allowed to tutor for Satisfaction
Tutoring. We stand behind the work of all of our tutors 100%, and if you aren’t happy with the quality
of any tutoring at any time, we will find a way to make it right.
Further information about our rates:
- Cancelation Policy: Any cancelation the day of a scheduled session or one day before a scheduled session is considered a Late Cancelation (LC). We will give one LC for free to account for illnesses, coaches changing football practice schedules, and so on. But all subsequent LCs will be charged in full, regardless of the reason. Two days (or more, preferably) in advance, cancelations are always acceptable without any charge.
- Reverse-Cancelation Policy: If the tutor has to Late-Cancel on a student more than once, the student will be credited with a free hour of tutoring. This has never happened before, but the policy is in place just in case!
- No-Show Policy: If we show up at the tutoring location and the student simply forgot about the session, the session will be treated as an LC, and, even if it was the first LC, the student will be charged for 0.5 hours of tutoring. Future no-shows are then treated the same as subsequent LCs.
- Travel costs and all materials are included with the price of any tutoring, even a single hour!

- Hours are charged to the nearest quarter hour, rounded down.
- We never like for finances to be the reason that a student can’t work with us… if there are special circumstances we should be aware of, or if tutoring would cause financial difficulties of any kind for your family, please don’t hesitate to have a conversation with us, and we can try to find ways to work within your budget.
